Coaching Support

American Water Polo believes its coaches are the lifeblood of the organization. Consequently, AWP works extremely hard to ensure that all coaches within the organization know three things:

1. Your work is appreciated

AWP shows its appreciation for coaches by establishing a reward system that provides a gift to each coach every year, provided they are affiliated with a club of ten or more athletes. Likewise, membership for coaches is free, since we recognize that their efforts result in the AWP’s growth as an organization.

2. We want to make your job easier

Administration, registration, insurance, and managing competition are all areas we believe should be handled by our organization, so that our coaches can focus on the important task of teaching and preparing their athletes for competition. Accordingly, AWP provides game support for coaches, whether it be an AWP sponsored league, or one in which the individual coach is coordinating the competition. 3. We want to help you improve

The AWP will introduce an education program during 2003, which will provide opportunities for coaches to receive the training necessary to help them improve their base of knowledge in the sport. A complete description of the levels and program content can be found by clicking here.
